About Aireys Inlet
Aireys Inlet sits on the Great Ocean Road roughly halfway between Anglesea and Lorne — about a 45-minute drive from Geelong, or 1 hour 15 minutes door-to-door once you account for the slower coastal stretch from Anglesea on. The village is best known for the Split Point Lighthouse on the headland (1891) and the surrounding Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary, with quieter beaches than its busier coastal neighbours and a year-round community of around 1,000 people. The Aireys Pub on the Great Ocean Road is the village's heritage anchor — a 1904 hotel with Salt Brewing Co. beers brewed on-site and a marquee-covered beer garden that becomes the destination on warm afternoons.
